Snow Ice & Cold Are my Friends Tonight

It has been a crazy weekend we had an old friend plus Chrissie & her daughter here over the past 3 nights (not exactly all at once) not to mention the normal troupe who visit ms 18 routinely of a week or weekend.

Sunday night was definitely the best of it when 6 of us at my house played a very loud game of Apples to Apples & had a great time. Mr 9 was fairly annoyed when I made him go to bed (I’m not sayin’ how late it was- but it was very late!) Then Chrissie’s daughter & ms 12 were sent off to bed- it was still another hour or so before I settled down to sleep- which was rough since I had to get up this morning.

At 5:30 to take ms 18 to work. Then back here to get Chrissie & her daughter & deliver Sami to school & Chrissie to work- she got to crawl back into bed- I got to go to work & suffer through a normal day with 4 hours of sleep! To make matters worseThey had me scheduled for training first thing this morning.

There’s nothing like facing a guy discussing something as unpleasant as price increases & nodding off a thousand times in 45 minutes. The only bright spot of the morning was finding out the day off I requested for Wednesday was approved so I’m guaranteed 2 & 1/2 days off this week (!) pretty pathetic- to be happy about that when I should always have 2 days off (in my book at least)

Then all day at work I was watching the storm coming towards VA on the weather maps – they were talking about it all during the news last night too. (yes I watched the news even with company last night)They keep predicting snow tonight & 1/4 of an inch of ice on top of that. I confirmed with my boss that with my current attendance situation I’m better off calling in for the whole day rather than coming in late if the roads are bad tomorrow.

So that means I may get a 3 day spell out of work (& it’s early enough in the year that I will get sick pay if I miss the day) what a weird world! I’m excited though. I counted it up today & other than Christmas week & the Saturday before last when I left after a half day I have worked all the mandatory overtime for 6 weeks. If the hoped for outcome happens & we finish these 5 hour overtime days at the end of February this 3 day ‘vacation’ (if it happens the snow/ice could be rain or it could go north of us) will break the whole mess up very nicely.
