So I was driving to work this morning tired & grumpy & a little late. Fretting about having to do this 6 days not 5 because of our overtime ‘commitment’ (the big wigs make the commitment – we peons fulfill it) I was wishing I was still on a 10 hour day with 3 days off because at least then there’s still 2 whole days off to do what needs to be done. I thought to myself ‘if only someone on a 4×10 really wanted day shift & could trade with me’
3 hours later one of my co-workers said to the person beside him & all of us at large (they sit directly behind me) ‘man I can’t take these long days- I need to get on a morning shift’ So I spoke right up & said I would trade if he wanted. Our boss thinks we’ll be able to do the trade & so – pretty definitely I will change to 4 10 hour days on Saturday. I’ll have Tuesday & Wednesday off (with my 5 hours of overtime 10-3 on Tuesdays) and then Fridays off too. Because Fridays are important to me. (I get paid that day every other week after all)
I’m not sure why but I do much better diet wise working the longer shift- also I’ll be working 10am to 9pm – not so good on the going home end- but much better on the getting up in the morning end. Of course if 18 & the BF actually move out I may have to change again. But for now it’s going to be great to be back on a ‘normal’ (for me anyway) schedule.
Also- when I was on the 8 am to 7 pm schedule I was coming in & working 4 hours of overtime then too- I’ll do the same after our overtime requirement ends & it won’t seem like such a push to do it because I’ll already be in the swing of things! (I hope) so I wished I was still on 10 hour days & I GOT IT! Now about that lottery ticket….
Ms 18 has her first job interview tomorrow morning. Her Bf is taking the morning off to take her to it. Should be interesting. She’s interviewing at the nursing home where I used to work when the ex first moved out. Same boss I had – I’m sure she’ll get it- they pay too little to be picky & she really needs something like that to motivate her into getting her stuff together & getting to college – so as not to be stuck in dead end housekeeping type jobs forever.
I was told when I gave the big check to C&C’s representative today that I need to email the proof of the cost of my satellite dish being re-installed to them in order to be reimbursed for it. Of course- that’ll go to C&C too- I’m still paying off the deductible- at least they’re letting me pay it in installments!

That’s great! Congrats. What will you do about the kiddo’s with Lois at work?
