At home, that is.

I don’t often blog from work, I prefer not to, it means typing this in public with anyone who wants to walk into the ‘internet cafe’ as they call it, reading over your shoulder if they so choose.

But I was tired & cranky last night when I got home & even before arriving I called 17 & told her to turn off the computer so as to remove temptation, I didn’t go to bed much earlier than normal, 1 am still, but I did watch the national news, something I sometimes skip on work nights when I’ve been online first.

That wasn’t such a good idea really, it was actually pretty depressing. People killing their kids, the prediction of a recession, I liked the part about the interest rates dropping, maybe I can refi & get out from under my second mortgage, I probably don’t have enough equity yet…’’sigh”.

Tomorrow is my lovely day off in the middle of the week, always welcome & this week, already much anticipated, I did have one bright spot, when I was driving home last night something told me I should check on the child support, so I called the automated system & there was actually something to report, a regular payment of the same as before he stopped paying, no mention of when I might get that 2000+ in back support but every little bit helps & this child support means I don’t have to kite a check for gas on Wednesday & that we’ll have enough kerosene for heat right through the whole week!

It’s especially amusing to me that I went & bought the car with the knowledge that I’d have to work pretty darn hard (I was estimating a 6 hour day at work in each pay period for overtime) to pay for the car unless the child support picked back up, but I did it anyway (because that’s what had to be done- on the roads I drive, having a less than stellar car to drive home in at 11pm at night is a dangerous prospect) & now, after I took the leap of faith that the money for the payment would come, here it (or at least a good chunk of it) comes!

Well that’s enough to keep me from feeling guilty about signing up for blog 365 & not even making it through January!
